What do you like in the look of a kitchen Do you like the look of traditional, rich wood finishes, or do you like the look of fresh white cabinets. Are deeply recessed wooden doors what you consider the ultimate statement in kitchen design, or do you feel that the clean, sleek lines of a European style cabinet is the ultimate in kitchen chic.
But what do you do when you are fitting cabinets between two walls? Well in this case the cabinet dealer can supply you with filler pieces to take up any large gaps that will eventually occur by using cabinets that are built within 2 inch increments. These cabinet filler pieces can be cut to fit the remaining gap relatively well. The main disadvantage with stock kitchen cabinets is the aforementioned incremental sizing but also the quality.
Be sure when shopping for these color of cabinets that the paint is oil-based. Latex-based paint is cheaper, but after some time the paint itself can feel strange or sticky to the touch. It is even possible for the black to fade to a dark gray after some time with latex paint. Oil paint dries much harder than latex, so it will always feel as good as the day you purchased the cabinets. The color will also stay for a much longer period of time, if not forever.
